You can also join as an individual, Joint members or an institution will receive the Paper Banyan Tree by post as now.
There are various ways you can join or renew your subscription:

- by Genfair (see below)
- by Bankers (Standing) Order
- direct to the Society's bank (BACS) (see below)
- by cheque (drawn on a UK Bank)
- for Overseas membership, we also accept sterling cash and foreign currency notes in the equivalent value.
Genfair
You can now join as a New Member or Renew your subscription on Genfair.
On their home page, click Suppliers at the top left, then scroll down and select East Yorkshire Family History Society. Select one of the three rates (see above) and then you have the option for a New Membership or to Renew an existing Membership. Click on the title of the membership and you will see the information we require and also the Privacy policy. Click on the green Membership button to go to the Basket. In the Basket, please put in all the details requested as you will not need to fill in the forms mentioned below. If you are a UK taxpayer, please help us to reclaim tax paid on your subscription by clicking on the ? Add Gift Aid button at the bottom of the page (it appears when you are logged in or have registered).
New Members
To join the Society if you are not using Genfair, you will need to complete the Membership form and the Contact Permissions Form, which should be sent to the Membership Secretary. If you are a UK taxpayer, please help us to reclaim tax paid on your subscription by completing the Gift Aid Declaration form. For more details about Gift Aid, see the Gift Aid page.
If you then pay by BACS, please could you give your full name and title as reference, so that we can link the payment to the forms. It is not recommended that you use the Bankers (Standing) Order to join as you will not have a membership number at that point and getting banks to add the membership number to an existing standing order may be difficult.
Following approval, your Membership Pack will be mailed to the address or emailed to the email address (if you chose the digital option) you provided.
Renewals
You can pay by any of the methods mentioned above. Please note that if you use the Bankers (Standing) Order, you will need to amend it if the Subscription Rate changes, so keep a look-out for the November issue of The Banyan Tree.
If you wish to change to the new Digital rate, you will need to amend your Bankers (Standing) Order, but also please let the Membership Secretary know you have changed.
If you are a UK taxpayer and have not already set up Gift Aid with us, please help us to reclaim tax paid on your subscription by completing the Gift Aid Declaration form. For more details about Gift Aid, see the Gift Aid page.
