Help Desks

The EYFHS holds public HELP DESKS  all over East Yorkshire and the best bit of all is that they are free. It doesn't matter if you are just starting out, only thinking about it, or are an experienced researcher who has hit the inevitable brick wall, everyone is welcome to come along and benefit from our team of expert volunteers.

To many it comes as a surprise that we offer such a valuable service for free, and everyone wonders why we do it. Well, it's a great way to introduce you to our hobby (obsession?) and our society. While some people come along just for a little help, many others become our future members and that can only be a good thing. No one will ask you to join, that is a decision for you to make in your own time, but please ask for a leaflet if you think you may be interested.

We hold regular Help Desks at the Carnegie Heritage Centre, Anlaby Rd. and the Hull History Centre as well as in libraries in  Anlaby, Hessle and Hornsea. Also occasionally at Beverley library and Scarborough library. Helpdesks have re-started at Market Weighton Library. See our Events Diary or ring the library direct to find out when the next one is being held in your area. Please note that some libraries operate an advance booking

We also have an email Helpdesk if you are unable to get to one of the library ones. Write to - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
